  1. Official Name: The official name of Thailand is the Kingdom of Thailand. It was formerly known as Siam until 1939 and again between 1945 and 1949.
  2. Capital: Bangkok is the capital and largest city in Thailand. Its full name is the longest place name in the world, officially recognized by the Guinness World Records. the name goes like this “Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit”. In short people call it Bangkok or “Krung Thep Mahanakhon”
